Krátky popis
This volume contains essays on the diplomatic and military
relations between Austria-Hungary and Bulgaria in the First World
War including their alliance politics towards other states and
their aspirations on the Balkan Peninsula. The volume grew out of
the presentations at the 2015 conference of the Bulgarian-Hungarian
History Commission held in Sofia; a large portion of these studies
represent attempts to transcend the politics of national grievance
and self-victimization, and to avoid the canonization of national
myths or the deflection of responsibility. At the same time,
authors of the studies try to emphasize the alternatives the
politicians of the period could have chosen, and how and why
certain figures might bear responsibility for particular outcomes.
